At this years Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trusts’ Best People Awards NHS South of England Procurement Services were awarded the ‘Highly Commended’ in Best Listening into Action Champion Award. Jackie Pomroy, Head of Supply Chain (far right) received the commendation along with Paul Allen, Deputy Head of Supply Chain (Far left) and Emma Fullwood, Procurement Manager( 2nd left) from the Chief Executive Officer, Ursula Ward. The award citation, presented on the afternoon by Ursula Ward Chief Executive Officer of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, reads: ‘This award recognises a team who have successfully adopted LiA to make positive changes for the benefit of patients/and or staff. Who has demonstrated a fundamental shift to a new way of working by joining people together to take collective ownership to make things happen quickly and embed a systematic and sustainable way of engaging .’ As a team NHS South of England Procurement Services identified from the big conversations, a lack of understanding and knowledge of procurement systems, complicated processes, frustration and misconceptions. We then set up and empowered a team of Procurement Champions throughout the Trust to promote good practice. SoEPS are extremely proud and pleased to have had their hard work recognised in this manner. Anyone interested in Bitesize Procurement training at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust can apply via the ESR system (Sessions are held monthly) and at IOW by contacting Wayne Turner-Brooks (Sessions are held quarterly).
