Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, our host Trust, held their Annual Open Day on Saturday 28th September 2019.
The event is a fantastic day for the public to come and learn more about their local hospital. The theme of this year’s Open Day was “Working Together”. It attracts lots of families and those interested in future careers with the NHS. This year included tours of the Mortuary, Pathology, Robotic Surgery Suite and Hospital Radio. New for this year was also a sticker book trail run for children, to encourage them to explore all of the stalls and activities on offer and become a “Queen Alexandra Hospital Avenger”.
NHS South of England Procurement Services (SoEPS) ran another successful stand this year, with Ben, Emma, Tom and Emily representing on behalf of the team. Thanks to
- Boston Scientific,
- Harlow Printing,
- Clares Office Supplies,
and the Health Care Supply Association for supporting the day by providing sweets and stationery to help lure in members of the public and encourage them to come and learn about the important role of procurement and supply within the NHS.
The team ran various activities on the stand, including the Sweetie Jar Challenge, a savings suggestion box, and a raffle in aid of the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity. A big thank you to Ambu for supporting the raffle and to all those that purchased tickets for such a worthy cause.
